When you’re not busy shopping the best deals and offers on the internet, catch up with your favorite cash back site in the news!
TopCashback has been making headlines for its expert savings tips for a long time, and now members like you can read all about them here. This latest edition of our In the News series features only a handful of the amazing coverage we’ve received in October, so keep your eyes peeled for additional TopCashback mentions across national and local publications.
Our very own consumer expert Rebecca Gramuglia spoke to U.S. News & World Report about what people should do when shopping at Groupon. First, “always read the fine print,” she said. And second, “to take the savings further…be sure to shop through a cash back site, like TopCashback.”
If you have your sights set on a new item this holiday season, don’t rely entirely on pre-orders. “While pre-orders may seem like a guarantee that you’ll get the product, you’ll still want to purchase the item as soon as possible to avoid the pre-sale running out of stock,” Rebecca told The Street.
KTTC-TV hosted Rebecca to discuss the results of a recent survey she conducted on TopCashback.com, which revealed that 71% of Americans have changed their budget due to inflation. She also suggested some key ways to save ahead of the holidays, like planning your expenses in advance and shopping online through a cash back site.
With kids back in school, GOBankingRates ran a helpful piece on affordable lunch snacks for frugal parents and sought Rebecca’s input. “Costco offers a 24-count of That’s It Mini Fruit Bars for $16.99, which is around 70 cents a bar,” she shared.
Halloween has come and gone, but that doesn’t mean you can’t start saving for next year! While appearing on WALA-TV, Rebecca advised viewers to wait to buy new Halloween items until right before the holiday or right after.
“Stores like Michaels, Target, Home Depot, Kohl’s [and] so many more clear out their Halloween merchandise to make way for winter holiday season merchandise. So, you can find discounts from 50-70% off,” she said.
Don’t let inflation put a damper on your Thanksgiving activities. Rebecca recommends signing up for loyalty programs to access exclusive promotions. “For example, the store may offer a free turkey when you spend a certain amount of money,” she told Yahoo! Finance.
Also, think about shopping with a credit card that offers the most rewards. “If you have a credit card that earns a high percentage of cash back on gas and groceries, be sure to use that card for those items,” Rebecca added.
Speaking of credit cards, Rebecca guested on WITF’s Smart Talk to explain the benefits of having good credit. It “opens a plethora of opportunities to a person, whether it’s getting a low interest rate on a mortgage or a car,” she said.
