Giving cash back is the driving purpose of our company. But so is giving back.
Many of you may not know that TopCashback stands firmly by the fair play policy, which has allowed us to treat our colleagues, members, customers and suppliers with the respect they all deserve. Treating others how we ourselves wish to be treated shapes our business. Every decision we make is viewed through a lens of what is ethical and the right thing to do.
That extends to communities outside of our bubble as well.
In April 2020, for example, TopCashback pledged to match your cash back donations to Direct Relief—a non-profit organization that provides humanitarian relief and doctors and nurses with life-saving medical supplies around the globe.
More recently, TopCashback made a $13,000 donation to help provide food, water, shelter and medical assistance to those fleeing Ukraine. And in the last three months alone, TopCashback’s USA staff raised almost $4,000 for Feeding America to take action against hunger. All of these efforts will continue throughout 2022.
But we’re also throwing our support behind Mental Health America, Animal Welfare Institute and the NAACP—all of which are simply asking for “fair play” from today’s society. We currently exist in a world where we don’t all start from a level-playing field. It’s past time we help these groups lead the charge for change.
If you’re interested in making a contribution or two, we’ll walk you through how to donate a portion of your cash back in our Payout section at the end of this blog. TopCashback is willing to match $1 per $1, up to the value of $2,000, per organization. But first, here’s a closer look at what each one does and stands for.
Racism and inequality won’t go away without a universal effort. That’s why the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) welcomes people from all backgrounds to help make huge progress for Black Americans in criminal justice, health care, education, climate and the economy. Founded in 1909, the NAACP remains the largest and most influential civil rights organization in the nation and encourages us to “push America forward.”
There are 38 million people who face hunger in the U.S., 12 million of whom are children. Feeding America is working to combat that through its 200 food banks, 60,000 food pantries and meal programs, and your impact! Just one dollar can bring 10 meals to folks in need.
Whether you struggle with mental illness or know someone who does, it’s important to support Mental Health America’s efforts to educate millions about the disease and reduce barriers to treatment and services. The organization lives by the B4Stage4Philosophy, which argues that “individuals who are dealing with mental health concerns…should be treated long before they reach the most critical points in the disease process,” or before Stage 4, like in cancer.
The Animal Welfare Institute has been rescuing animals from abusive treatment by the hands of humans for the last 70 years. In fact, improving the housing and handling of animals in research, protecting wildlife, preventing injury and death of animals caused by harsh transport conditions and protecting pets from cruelty and violence are just a few of AWI’s missions.
Improving the health of people, regardless of their economic, religious or political status, is Direct Relief’s core mission. Its work has brought lifesaving supplies to disaster-ridden, disease-plagued and poverty-stricken states and countries since 1948. It’s no wonder it’s been recognized as one of the top 10 charities changing the world by CNBC.
Like it did for the COVID-19 outbreak, Direct Relief has created a separate emergency response page for all victims of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. Thousands have already been killed in the war. And up to 6 million Ukrainians are expected to be displaced. So far, Direct Relief has been able to send over 48 tons of medical aid to Ukraine—all thanks to public donations.
