Blaupunkt, the German electronics brand, was founded in 1924 and known for the first car radio. They now venture into the US electronic mobility space with a new foldable ebike. Blaupunkt has put their commitment to quality and innovation into car audio, navigation, TV, and now emobility. This bike is meant for not only easy navigation direct from the home, but is simple to stow in small spaces including car trunks, RV’s, boats and more, unlocking multiple modes of transit to get users around their communities or all around the country. Blaupunkt’s first model packs up to just under eight cubic feet and tops out at 20mph for up to 45 miles on a charge.
All Blaupunkt ebikes pack away using magnets, for incredible ease of use and clean transitions in tight spaces like trains and buses. Magnetic joints allow for a single die-cast frame mold that’s refined, sleek, and lightweight. Blaupunkt has also partnered with Fidlock for a variety of magnetic accessories to improve your on-bike experience, like phone mounts and water bottle cages.
Batteries in all Blaupunkt bikes are in process to be certified under the new UL 2849 safety standard. By March, Blaupunkt ebikes will be one of the few ebikes on the market that are safety certified to this new standard. Additionally, all batteries are removable with the included key lock for easy charging and a fast way to reduce weight on the bike, if needed. Full charge typically takes just under two hours, so round trips longer than 45 miles are simple to undertake.
